Museums

 

Artefacts from the WC&PR are unfortunately fairly few and dispersed. This page will attempt to record where items may be found. If you have any knowledge of other museums containing items please let us know. The following museums hold some items or displays.

 

Colonel Stephens Museum, Tenterden, Kent - website

A few items from the WC&PR are believed to be held. More details to come.

 

London Transport Museum Acton Depot. - website

National Railway Museum, York - website

Has some WC&P signs. More details to come.

 

Weston-super-Mare Museum - website

There is a small collection, but most not on public display. Check with museum before visiting. There is an entry fee. Summary of items held: 3 metal railway signs, 1 concrete sleeper, tickets, a timetable, booklets, newspaper cuttings, photographs, 2 postcards, plus archive of photographs and cuttings.

 

Weston-super-Mare Library - website

The Reference Library has a good collection of WC&PR photographs and cuttings.
