What do we do?
Our activities are not all concerned with controversial subjects. Meetings are held monthly over the winter period at which the current state of local affairs is discussed and announcements are made. This part of the meeting precedes a talk or slide show given by an invited speaker – subjects are chosen to cover some of our activities, i.e. Planning, Conservation, Local History, Wildlife, etc. plus some of general interest. During the summer months outings are arranged to places of interest. The Local History Group meets on a regular basis throughout the year. We also have available a range of Publications.
Where do we meet?
At the Folk Hall, High Street, Portishead, and at members’ houses for Local History evenings. Our main meetings are usually on the second Friday in the month between September and April.
