15 Sept 2011: South West in Bloom Awards 2011: Portishead in Bloom has again won GOLD and retained the St Bridget Cup as the best of the Gold Award towns in the category, and achieved 11 “It’s Your Neighbourhood” awards as follows:

St. Peter's Church - Millennium Garden - Outstanding

The Deans Allotments - Outstanding
We were also given an RHS Discretionary Award for Local Heritage for the birch tree planting at Roath Road/Slade Road in memory of Tommy Broom.

Highdown Infant School Planting Day: Portishead in Bloom donated a variety of plants, which the children took turns to plant and sow in the raised beds located in the school playground. See April/May Press Release for more details.
10 April 2011: To celebrate the life and service to his country of Tom Broom, Portishead in Bloom planted five birch trees at the top of Roath Road. More details .... (PDF file)
27 March 2011: Portishead in Bloom planted 105 trees donated by The Royal Horticultural Society and the Woodland Trust in Brampton Way Community Park. More details of this and further plans for the park.
15 March 2011: On Tuesday afternoon, 15th March, Portishead in Bloom together with residents at the Slade Road Supported Housing planted five apple trees on the site of an old orchard. For further details click here. For a photo click here.
8 March 2011: Entries for the Spring Garden Awards invited.
February 2011: Volunteers from Portishead in Bloom and Transition Portishead have planted more than 40 trees to establish a new nuttery on land owned by North Somerset Council just off Avon Way.
February 2011: At an Awards ceremony Portishead in Bloom received an Environmental Award from The Mercury and Portishead Town Council.
